Beautification of Tiruvallur Veeraraghava Swamy Temple Tank

        The Tiruvallur Town is situated in a congested atmosphere without any recreation facilities to the general public and so also for the Children of this town. With a view to give relief the public of this Town, the Collector, Tiruvallur with his personal interest has renovated the Tank of Veeraraghava Swamy Temple in Tiruvallur and formed the front portion of the tank as a park with a children's playground. This park was constructed under the "Namakku Naame" Scheme. The residents of Tiruvallur Town are now fully utilising the said park and children playground daily particularly in the evening hours.

 

Master Plan Complex

        In Tiruvallur District, Master Plan Complex to the value of Rs.5.10 crores has been sanctioned by the Government for locating Collectorate offices of this District in one area. An extent of 149.42 acres of land in Perumbakkam village, Tiruvallur Taluk, has been selected for locating all Government Offices. The then Hon'ble Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the construction of Master plan complex on 25.4.99. As a first phase of this project the Collectorate complex having 1+2 floors was inaugurated on 07-10-2000 by the then Hon'ble Chief Minister.

 

Computerization in District Administration

Monitoring the Administration by the Collector using Computer network with Taluk and Block Development Offices.

         Thiruvallur district is the first district which had taken up the computerization of both Taluk Offices and Block Development Offices in Tamil Nadu. All the eight Taluk Offices and fourteen Block Development Offices are equipped with latest advanced Computers along with peripherals Printer, Uninterrupted Power Supply and Modem. All the Taluk offices and block development offices are interlinked with Collectorate and District Rural Development Agency through computer network. Network is designed using the advanced Information Technology methods. It is also proposed to interlink with the Secretariat directly with Taluk and Block Development Offices, so that CM Office can retrieve the required information directly accessing the computer of the concern office. Software is developed by National Informatics Centre. All the public related Systems will be enabled with Intranet and Internet access, which provides the OPEN ADMINISTRATION AND TRANSPARENCY IN GOVERNMENT OFFICES.
